The Hotel Colonial, occupies from Av. Savio to street 1 West. Neighborhood 1 covers from streets 1st to 5th. The houses are located almost entirely in the West part. Only the house that formerly belonged to the manager of the company is located on the East side.   This sub - neighborhood of Neighborhood Somisa, was prepared to receive the families of equipment installation Steel Plant, Americans based in San Nicolás de los Arroyos.   Starting in 1953, and growing until it ceased in 1959, it received American engineers with their respective families and absolutely all imported household goods, including their automobiles. San Nicolás then no more than 23.000 inhabitants, so its presence was very showy.   The "Neighborhood 1" was receiving electrical power generators to 110 V, which was the tension home in the United States. Then open the steel, with its own central 40 MW of power.   When completed the technical groups within their contracts, selling everything to nicoleños neighbors. Thus came the really unknown and not present in the Argentine market: automatic washing machine, refrigerator with freezer, wiring and outlets for 110 V, camcorders, electric blankets.   By the time preconciliar Vatican II, the presence of a chapel in Central Avenue to worships catholic and evangelists, was an incredible novelty for the bewildered nicoleños.
